Motivation

21 Mar 2023

We all feel the excitement of performing an action that we wanted to do, or the irritation of being stuck on a task we don’t feel like dealing with. For example, we might have that desire to motivate, but not the same feeling when completing your homework or working.

This feeling of desire or irritation is often identified as motivation, which is generally defined as the desire or urge to act towards achieving a goal. Often acting as the catalyst for our productivity or procrastination depending on how we feel, it dictates how we can move through our day, and teaches us life lessons that we implement throughout our lives.

Motivation is a powerful tool that when utilized effectively, it can increase productivity and improve one as a person. In order to increase motivation, one can work on tasks that they feel passionate about. On the contingency that the task isn’t a requirement or something that would benefit you, search for tasks and ideas that motivate you.

For example, when working on a passion project or searching for what topic you enjoy, distinguish your passion from the rest of yourself, and understand if you’re truly enjoying a concept or task before committing to it. By taking this extra step, one can feel more motivation and productivity regarding completing the plan you created. In addition, keeping one’s morale and happiness in check is also a priority one must consider to keep emotions and motivation up.

Therefore, one’s motivation depends on the prioritization of one’s health, and can be a determining factor in one’s productivity in a harmful or beneficial way. By harnessing this properly, motivation can be an effective tool that one can utilize.
